Crashing Season 1 Review | TV

Recently I finished season 1 of Crashing, a new HBO tv series about Pete Holmes, a comic who tries to make it in New York after finding out his wife is leaving him. It's produced with Judd Apatow and as you'll know by now, I pretty much watch and like anything Judd Apatow is involved in.

The main reason I like this show is how likeable Pete is. He's been raised religiously and always had his mum or wife there so doesn't have any experience with living alone or making money, and it shows how likeable he is because these comedians that he's only just met really like him too. He's a really nice guy, and it makes you root for him.

You can tell a lot of this show is from past experiences and improvised. A lot of the conversations with other comedians feel real and the advise is true. I enjoy watching the behind the scenes sort of stories where you see the things comedians do to get stage time or their material so it's an interesting watch. There's some really good jokes throughout the show, not just in the scenes where they are on stage telling jokes.

The first season is very short with just 8 episodes, however from Judd Apatow's instagram there will be a season 2 on the way. I'm looking forward to Season 2 as I didn't realise there was only 8 episodes, however I'd recommend this if you like comedy shows or an easy watch over dinner.

Have you seen Crashing? What did you think?
